Overview

Student Loan Assistance (SLA), a division of Post-Secondary Education Assistance Corporation (PEAC), was formed in 1992 to walk students through the federal loan repayment process and reduce institutional cohort default rates. The nation's premier loan management and default prevention service, SLA works with student loan borrowers and the institutions they attended, lenders, servicers, and guaranty agencies to counsel borrowers on their repayment obligations and reduce institutional default rates. Since inception, SLA has worked with hundreds of institutions and hundreds of thousands of borrowers preserving client schools' loan program eligibility by preventing borrowers from defaulting.

The default prevention program is one of several collegiate services provided by PEAC's contact management center. In addition to SLA, PEAC's sister company, Collegiate Admission & Retention Solutions (CARS), currently provides admissions, retention, and financial aid solutions with over 100 staff members dedicated to higher education specific contact center services.
